I ran across a study today called the "Vegetable and Fruit Behavioural Intervention Pilot Project", which sounds like project to deal with delinquent fruit and vegetables. This idea kept me entertained for a full twenty minutes. Good times.
Also? It was demonstrated to me once again that no one really listens to small talk. I passed someone I knew in the hallway at work, and was about to say hello when I tripped over my own feet so what actually came out of my mouth was not anything resembling human speech but rather a choked, wordless, monkey-like shriek. To which she replied "Fine, thanks, and how are you?"
I hate banal work conversations. I hate people who talk about calories all the time. I hate the inevitable elevator exchanges regarding the pain of Mondays and desirability of Fridays. The only work conversation I'm currently enjoying is the ongoing discussion with Workguy about my imaginary friend, the invisible miniature pony. I have managed to persuade him that work would be more tolerable if we were all allowed to have our own miniature ponies. Thus far, no one seems to think that this would be an acceptable use for our year-end surplus funds.
