2004-09-15 - 2:34 p.m. On my way home from the gym tonight I stopped in and got some noodles at the local chinese retaurant. They gave me a fortune cookie with my bill, and when I opened it up, THERE WAS NO FORTUNE INSIDE. I am now sitting here waiting anxiously for the end. I have no future! The day was full of interesting overheard snippets of conversation. On the bus a girl was saying "... guys everywhere. And when you walk over to the automotive building, you'd think they were pirates or something and hadn't seen a woman in six months... they act like *monkeys*, all hooting and leaping around. And there's this concrete wall around this one lowered area, and their heads all pop up over the top of the wall like ground hogs, and they they whisper to each other as they watch you go by..." I'm curious about what place this is she's talking about - a prison? A technical scool? The engineering program at U of T? Then two girls were talking in the locker room at the gym as I came in - "They thought she had pneumonia, but then the tests came back, and she had tuberculosis! And Simon was all 'when can you come back to work?' and we're all 'Hey, the girl has *consumption* - you can't have her cooking for people!'" I'm glad to know I'm not the only one worrying about consumption...
