2005-02-20 - 9:36 p.m. 1: You know, there are a lot of disadvantages to the fact that we're not robots. 2: Ok... such as? 1: If we were robots, we would have easily replaceable parts. If something wasn't working properly, you could just go to Robo-Depot and say "My jaw isn't working very well, can I have a new one?" Or "My lower back is experiencing mechanical failure, do you have a more recent model?" 2: Robo-Depot? 1: OK, maybe it wouldn't be as easy as Robo-Depot, maybe you'd actually have to go to a Robo-Doctor or something. I guess there are limits on the degree of self-service you'd be able to perform. You wouldn't want people to be able to transform themselves into Robo-Destructo-Bot or World-Domination-Bot at the drop of a hat - there'd have to be some kind of robo-regulation. 2: You've given this a disturbing amount of thought. Or do you just like to say the word 'robo'? 1: And the best thing is that you could have conveniently programeable emotions! 2: Oh... yeah, I guess that would be cool. You could just set it to "Super-happy!" all the time. 1: Or at least "Appropriate". At this point I'd settle for appropriate. 2: AppRobopriate? 1: Exactly.
