The saga of my dental woes continues. The diagnosis I have gotten on the weird lump in my gum is "We don't know what it is, but we know what the stuff we'd be worried about would look like, adn it doesn't look like any of them, so you're most likely OK, plus it looks like it's getting smaller".
This is not as reassuring as, say, being told that "Oh, that's the following common, well-documented, and competely 100% harmless dental phenomenon which can be treated in the following exceedingly simple way," but it's better than nothing, and hopefully means that I don't have a face-eating tumour.
However, the dentist is now saying that the alignment of my bite is so dire and awful that he would recommend me having my jaw surgically broken and re-set. I... am really not into this idea.
As I left the building, a truck went by which had painted on the side the words "Quality replacement body parts", and I thought Aha! That's what I really need.
I think I must have spent a lot of time kicking people in the teeth in a former life.
